Obituary

Today we have gathered to celebrate the life of Edward "Pete" Harlan Morris who on Tuesday, April 17, 2012 transitioned from this earth to be in the eternal presence of his Lord and Savior. Edward "Pete" Harlan Morris was born in Hebron, Maryland on the Eastern Shore on September 30, 1918 in Wicomico County to the late Harlan and Julia Morris. Edward received his formal education in the public school system of Wicomico county, Maryland. Edward who was also affectionately known to his grandchildren as "Popool" was an Army Veteran of World War II and served under General Patton. He also served in the Civilian Conservation Corps during the "Great Depression." He also a life member of Walter P. Green American Legion Post in Baltimore, Maryland. Prior to serving in the Army, Edward married Angie Williams a.k.a. Morris" of Dames Quarter, Maryland. They then moved to Baltimore. From this union was born Julianaa Morris, who preceded him in death, as well as his adopted daughter, Marion Cromartie and daughter Rosalee Brittingham from a previous relationship. Later, after the death of Angie Morris, he married Isabelle Harvey who also preceded him in death. Edward "Pete"" retired from Western Electric in Baltimore, after thirty-eight years of faithful service. All along the way he also maintained part-time employment with such companies as McShane Manufacturers as well as the Law Firm of Allen Rabinae, with whom he also formed a personal relationship with the family. Edward formed many great friendships through his life Mr. Bernard Marshall, Mr. Rice, Me Cole, Mr. Wallace, Mr. John Gotti and list goes on. Edward was a passionate fisherman. He was often seen leaving with his neighbors and friends to go on fishing trips, in fact he was the owner of several outboard motor boats, three to be exact. He enjoyed spending time with Uncle Preston Browny Morris, singing and playing piano. He loved being with his family and friends. He leaves to mourn and cherish special memories; his granddaughter, Pamela Diggs; sister Barbara Roberts of Salisbury, Maryland; two sisters-in-law, Annebell Horsey and Esther Elaine Winder brother Earl T. Morris preceded him in death, nephews, Patrick Morris, John Edward Morris, Oliver Morris; grandson Joseph L. Colbert; great-grandchildren, Paul Boone II, Stephen Boone and Brinna Ford; along with a host of great nephews and nieces; and a dear friend Rose Bruen.
