IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Edward J.
Pitchford
March 20, 1938 – July 28, 2016
Edward Pitchford, born March 20, 1938, to Ethel Leen and Edward Pitchford. He quietly and peacefully departed this life on July 28,2016. Edward was born and raised in Littletown, North Carolina where he received his education. When he was sixteen years old his family moved to Baltimore, Maryland where he continued to reside for the remainder of his life.
He was a God-fearing man that studied his bible faithfully. He was a Deacon at The Greater Harvest Baptist Church on Saratoga Street in Baltimore, MD. Along with his love of God he loved to eat. He would try the newest thing on any restaurant menu. His daughter Cathy would be his first call after seeing a commercial requesting to try the new burger at Burger King.
Edward was a people person and spent the majority of his career in transportation. He was an avid sports fan, football was his favorite, although he hated The Baltimore Ravens. Even after promising his son Eddie and his daughter Cathy he would behave while watching the game, he couldn't refrain from calling them a bunch of bums. He was known to have a great sense of humor, so for one last laugh with their dad Eddie and Cathy laid him to rest in the Ravens colors, purple and black.
He was preceded in death by his sisters Daisy Finch, Ethel Singleton, Melissa Farmsville and Hester Farmsville. He leaves to cherish his memory his dedicated brother John Pitchford of Baltimore, Maryland; his sisters Stephanie Cargill and Jada Nelson; brothers Stevenson Pitchford and Edward Pitchford, Jr., of Suffolk, Virginia. His children Edward Pitchford, Catherine Pitchford, Edward Harris (wife Sheli), and Yolanda Harris. His grandchildren Martina, Marvin, Edward, Jr., Nathan, Ryan, Yazmin, and Ethan and one great grandchild Kaila; he had a dedicated best friend George Smith and host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
