Elaine Clorise Johnson, born on January 21, 1923 to the late Flora Hutchins and the late George Johnson, was called home to be with her Savior Jesus the Christ on Saturday, June 8, 2013. Elaine, who had one sister, the late Flora Johnson, was a happy child who enjoyed spending time with her grandparents and traveling to Calvert County. At an early age, she attended John Wesley Methodist Church, where she was a faithful member for over twenty years. She received her education in the Baltimore Public School system. Her dream was to become a school teacher. After graduating, she married the late Zaralee Davis on December 25, 1942. From this union, eight children were born -Jacqueline, Sheila, Gregory, Gloria (deceased), Deborah, Gary, Sharon, and Yvette. Elaine, affectionately known as "Reesie", cherished her many roles. She dedicated all of her life to being a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, auntie, sister and friend. She loved her family unconditionally and that love was felt throughout the generations. Whether young or old, all were quick to reply that their fondest memories are of times spent at "Mama's house". Elaine leaves a legacy which includes strong family ties, love for family and others, praying together and staying together...and her legacy continues. She leaves to cherish fond memories, her children -Jacqueline Brockington, Sheila Smith-Banks, Greg Davis, the late Gloria Powell, Deborah Nelson, Gary Davis, Sharon Davis and Yvette Butler; six sons-in-law: the late Julius Brockington, Ray Banks, Carl Jackson, the late Calvin Matthews, Adrian Wilson and Kevin Butler; two daughters-in-law: Candi Willie-Davis and Bonita Davis; one sister-in-law: Marybelle Chew; 2 nephews: Kenny Stanley and Ronald Watts; 25 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren; 11 great-great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
