Elaine Raye McMickens was born on March 14, 1954 to sarah Ray and Jesse McLaurin in Cumberland County, North Carolina. She was nurtured and lived in Baltimore, Maryland where she received her eduction in Baltimore City public schools and later worked various jobs as a G.N.A. On May 6, 1991 she was united in Holy Matrimony to Sgt. Tommy McMickens.
