Elainwe Meredith-Simmons daughter of Edith Ricks and the late Gimore Jacob Meredith Sr. was born on May 23, 1941 in Baltimore, Maryland. She departed this life on July 31, 2007. She received her education in the Baltimore City dPublic School system. She woked numerous jobs in the food service industry until her health prohibited her from working. At an early age Elaine accepted Christ and became a member of St. Martin's Church. Elaine met and married the late Robert Simmons and from this union came one child, Michael Anthony Simmons. Following the untimely death of her husband she later gave birth to Jdeffery Perry Simmons. Jarrod Lamont and Renee Monique Moore. Elaine had a special heart for her grand children. She loved a cup of coffee every morning and sitting outside with her neighbors enjoying the morning dew. She had a close relationship with all her siblings and spoke with them on a daily basis. She had an open door policy for fmaily, friends and especially those in need of tender loving care. Everyone who knew Elaine knows she always paid her bills on time, enjoyed working with numbers, frying chicken, providing snacks for her grandchildren and drinking Coca-Cola. She had numerous friends and will be sincerely missed by everyone who knew her. She leaves to mourn; her best friend and mother Edith Ricks; four children, Michael, Jeffery, Jarrod and Renee; a special niece, Damare' Vickers; five sisters, Edith a.k.a. ''Sweety'', Irene Corine, Shirley and Doris; one brother, Gilmore Jr.; 13 grandchildren, Ashley S., Dnayelle, Asiajuan, Jasmine, Jeffery Jr., Chrystal, Ashley M., Destyne, Corney, Jarrod Jr., Khalil, Jujuan and Thaxter; 3 daughters-in-laws, Carolyn, Latroya and Shanna and her dear friends of many years Geraldine Moslley and Mable Johnson and a host of nieces, nephews and other family members, friends and neighbors.
