ELBERT B. BUTLER JR., a.k.a. "Sputnick", son of the late Elbert B. Butler Sr. and Willie Mae Butler, was born on December 8, 1960 in Baltimore, Maryland. He departed this life on November 26, 2013 after a lengthy illness. He received his education at Northern High School in Baltimore. After graduation he was employed by Acme Food Market and later in life at B.A.R.C. In 1999 he set out to fulfill a life long dream of owning his own consignment store] Butler's Corner. Elbert was recognized as one of the city's top consigners by Baltimore Magazine. Early in life he was baptized and became a member of Harlem Park Baptist Church. He leaves to mourn: his mother, Willie Mae Butler; sister] Tonya M. Butler; niece, Ayonna Butler; aunts, Elizabeth Austin, Lovey Pasco, Lois Mathews, Bessie Butler and Annette Butler; one uncle, Landon Butler; and a host of cousins; childhood friends, Maurice Cole and Andre Cooper; close friends] Irvin Veney [r., Michael Johnson, Robert Richardson and Marcie McMillan; friends and business associates, Barbara Sarns, Vanessa Zant, Carolyn Smothers and Barbara Evans.
