Elizabeth Atterberry was born to the late Margaret Sykes and Percy Edward Gilmer on April 14, 1925 in Greensboro, North Carolina. ''Aunt Liz,'' as she was known to many, moved to Baltimore, Maryland, where she worked as a nurse at Baltimore County General Hopital until she retired. On Tuesday, August 22, 2006, ''Aunt Liz'' was called home to be with the Lord after sufferng from a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by one sister Shirley Harrid. She leaves to mourn: one son, Perry Brooks; one daughter-in-law, Marguerite Brooks; three grandchildren, Terry Brooks, Antionette Winfield and LeVar Round Sr. who preceded her in death and one great-grandson, LeVar Round Jr.; one brother, Nathan Gilmer; one stepbrother, John Washington two sisters-in-law, Barbara Washington and Bert Gilmer; two godsons, Perry and Rafael; one goddaughter, Kuran; one stepson, Kenneth Brooks; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
