IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Elizabeth Louise
Taylor
December 17, 1934 – June 9, 2025
Evangelist Elizabeth Louise Taylor was born on December 7, 1934, in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Rosetta and Charles Sanders. She departed this life on Monday, June 9th, 2025, at 9:05 p.m. to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus the Christ. Her transition was peaceful. She was surrounded by her loving and caring family.
Elizabeth received her formal education through the Baltimore City Public School system. She grew up in South Baltimore and dedicated herself to loving people by having meaningful connections with everyone she met.
She loved being a stay-at-home mom to her six children, Douglas, Reginald, Patricia, Anthony, Charlie, and Andree'.
Her first love was Lawrence Grimes, Sr., and they were blessed with two sons, Douglas Emmanuel, Jr., and Reginald Eugene Grimes. Later, she met and married Arthur Wright, Sr. and from this union they were blessed with two children, Patricia Elizabeth Wright, and Anthony James Wright (deceased).
After several years, Elizabeth met and fell in love with the late Charlie Taylor Sr., and from this union she gave birth to two sons, Charlie Bland Taylor, Jr. and Andree' Troy Taylor.
Elizabeth's dedication clearly demonstrated her love through her active participation and her faith community. In 1960, Elizabeth gave her life to Christ at an early age at Holy Tabernacle Church in Baltimore, Maryland under the pastorate of Bishop Edward Stancil.
In 1968, she rededicated her life to Christ and became a member of the "People's Prayer Band of Baltimore" which later became First Evangelical Gospel Tabernacle, under the pastorate of Elder Leo Green.
Her spiritual gifts of teaching, preaching and evangelism became clear and confirmed at the First Evangelical Gospel Tabernacle where she was licensed to preach the Gospel.
In 1977, Evangelist Elizabeth Taylor was provided a platform where she could exercise her gift of proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ, especially teaching others how to effectively evangelize and win souls for the Kingdom of God, empowered by the Holy Spirit, and guided by the Holy Scripture.
She later joined "United Brethren for Christ Church" under pastorate of Bishop William E. Gaines where she carried out her remaining years of her earthly ministry. Evangelist Taylor's work centered on equipping individuals to be effective evangelist and soul winners for the kingdom of God.
Evangelist Taylor's mantra can be found in Romans 1:16 "I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes."
Evangelist Taylor was preceded in death by, her beloved parents, Martha and Charles Sanders, Sr.; husband, Charlie Bland Taylor Sr., Son; Anthony James Wright, brothers, Douglas Gross, Henry Saunders, Charles Saunders, Jr., and sister, Dolores Chapman.
Elizabeth left to cherish her legacy and memories, sister, Geraldine Philips; children, Douglas Jr. (Sheila) Grimes, Reginald (Alta) Grimes, Patricia (Roosevelt) White, Charlie Bland Jr. (Marie) Taylor, Andree' Troy Taylor Sr.; grandchildren, Adrianne (Mike) Grimes-Thomas, Tonisha Grimes, Chareece Grimes, Tonya White, Chanel Grimes, Douglas Grimes, 3rd, Teresa Grimes, Antawan Missouri, Ketkesha Norris, Keith Norris, Charlie 3rd (Vernette) Taylor, Kendra Stewarts, Terrell (Quinn) Fuller Sr., Jerrod Fuller, Dreyana Taylor, Andree' Jr. (Carol) Taylor, Christina Taylor, Renetta (Shaun) Boykins, Alisha (Alex) Christian; forty great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
