IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Elizabeth A.
Washington
July 21, 1967 – April 2, 2019
A Time To Be Born
daughter of G.W. Fickling and the late Dorothy Fickling was born on
July 21. 1967 in Baltimore, Maryland.
A Time To Live
"Beth" as she was fondly called, attended various schools both in Baltimore and on various out of state
Air Force Bases to include, Illinois, Delaware, and Germany as a result of her father serving on active duty.
At these schools. she played softball and made plenty of wonderful friends and memories of which she often
spoke.
On May 13, 1989 she united her life with Raymond Washington in the living of her paternal grandparents,
whose marriage lasted for seventy years ... next month Beth and Raymond would have celebrated their 30th
wedding anniversary. The fruit of their union brought forth [our children, to whom she was a devoted
mother while remaining a loving wife.
Beth maintained full-time employment working as a manager at KFC in her younger years. She went on to
do housekeeping at Visa, seafood picking at Phillips Seafood Warehouse, and later became a department
associate at Walmart. After leaving Walmart, her health issues hindered her from gaining new employment.
When she was able to work, her co-workers could tell you how sweet. friendly, and hardworking she was.
Beth became a stay at home grandmother, where she enjoyed cooking just as much as her family enjoyed
eating her cooking. Everything she cooked was amazing, especially her cabbage, potato salad, chicken salad.
and pepper steak were all time favorites. She really enjoyed caring for her grandchildren in any way that she
could; helping with'hornework or babysitting while the parent worked was just fine with her. Beth did
everything in her power to make sure that her family was always taken care of, by any means necessary.
Her loyalty, love and devotion were immeasurable! And we simply can't forget how much she absolutely
loved movies and her favorite television shows.
A Time to Leave
Beth was called home suddenly into eternal bliss on April 2, 2019. She leaves to cherish her memory, father
GW Fickling, stepmother Karin Fickling, husband Raymond Washington, four children Amber, William
(Mahogany), Adrian and Jasmine: three stepchildren Raymond Jr., Domonique, and Madae: siblings Teddy
and Anna. seven handsome grandsons, five beautiful granddaughters ... and a new grandchild on the way; a
host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends who will miss her dearly.
