Obituary

Ella Jean Jefferson entered this world on May 24, 1938, and left to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 17, 2017, after a brief illness. No one knew that when she went to Northwest Hospital, she would not come back. However, Ella knew.

Ella was the daughter of the late Eleanor Taylor and Wilbur McKeavey; however she was raised by her mother, Eleanor and her stepfather, Wilbert Taylor in New Castle, Pennsylvania. She received her education in the New Castle, Pennsylvania· public school system and graduated from New Castle High School.

Midway through her life, Ella received the Lord Jesus Christ as her savior. Ella attended New Antioch Baptist Church of Randallstown. She enjoyed praising and worshipping God until her illness prevented her from attending.

She married the late Harvey L. Jefferson, Sr., in 1958. From this union four sons were born, Harvey Jr., Gary, Brian, and Kevin.

Ella was employed at Walmart (Catonsville location) for over 20 years. While at Walmart, she was a dedicated and committed employee who impacted other people lives while working there with her dedication and commitment. Upon retirement, she left her loving Walmart family.

In her spare time, Ella enjoyed shopping, baking, cooking, spending time with her grandchildren, family and friends. She was kind hearted, caring, compassionate and always encouraged others with her presence, prayers and support.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory: four sons, Harvey, Jr (Charlene), Gary (Claudette), Brian (Van), and Kevin (Charity) all from Baltimore, MD; three sisters, Nora Burley, Shirley Searcy (Pete), and Diana Taylor all from New Castle, PA; seven grandchildren, Shenae (Cornell), Chevelle, Tessa (David), Charnise, Brittany, Gary and Brian; four great-grandchildren, Enasia, Brandon, Aubrielle and Maddox; two aunts, Ruth Cobb (Baltimore, MD) and Sarah Henderson (New Castle, PA); sister-in-law, Dora Hubbard; brother-in-law, James Oliver, Sr., cousins Ann and Gertrude both from Crewe, VA; two brothers preceded her in death, John and Wilbert Taylor; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
