ella C. Morris, daughter of the late Willie and Mannie Morris was born on August 11. 1920 in bertie county, North Carolina. She departed this life peacefully on May 9, 2010 after a lengthy illness. She was educated in the North Carolina School System. At an early age Ella joined Zion Hill Baptist Church and later attended Shiloh Baptist Church until her health began to fail. In 1976 ella married the late Herbert Thomas Jr. whp proceeded her in death. Ella enjoyed playing cards, eating crabs, and telling stories about growing up back in the day in the south. She will truly be missed by everyone who knew her. She leaves to mourn; two sons, Thomas Jones Sr. and Gregory Jones; two daughters Pamela Evans and Veronica Powell; one daughter-in-law Celeste Jones; two sons-in-law, Tony Powell and Edward Bright; nine grandchildren, Cephus Powell, Deborah Powell, Cynthia Powell, Thomas Jones Jr., Gwendolyn Fields, Eric Powell, Rhonda Carter, tony Powell, and Diamonic Jones; eighteen great-grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends
