IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ellen
Pulley
February 8, 1933 – January 17, 2019
Ellen Pulley, daughter of the late Green and Charity Davis was
born on February 8, 1933 and Blackstock, South Carolina. She
departed this life on January 17,2019.
Ellen's family relocated to Baltimore, Maryland when she was
just 3 years old. She received her education in the Baltimore
City School System, where she later became an educator for
that same system. Ellen retired after 31 years of service at one
school, Commodore John Rogers School #27, where her stu-
dents and colleagues adored "Ms. Pulley". Praising and wor-
shiping the Lord became priority when she gave her life to
Christ in 2004.
Ms. Pulley was very passionate about her job and students; one
of her hobbies was sharing the many photos she had taken of
her students over the years. She also loved to go to the mall and
to the casino, stating that she did not like the Horseshoe Casi-
no. Ellen said it was "ghetto down there" she preferred the Live
Casino. Last but not least engaging in a telephone conversation
everyday with her sister Joeller was something she looked
forward to, discussing soap operas and everything else.
Down-to-earth, outspoken, real and funny are just a few words
to describe Ellen. She loved to make others laugh. Being in her
company was an honor and a privilege. Above all she valued
her family and enjoyed celebrations and gatherings. She will
truly be missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
Ellen was preceded in death by her children, Anthony, Debbie
and William Pulley Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband of 63 years,
William Pulley; three children, Antonet Pulley, Charity Davis
and Dexter Pulley; one sister, Joeller Thorton; one son-in-law,
Charlie Davis; one brother-in-law, Alvin Thornton; five grand-
children, Billequa, Salina, Syreeta, Victor and William; six
great-grandchildren, Adrian, Adriana, Deja, London, Richard
and Tyrin and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
