He was a devoted husband, son, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who departed this life on February 8, 2025, in Baltimore, Maryland, at the age of 70. Born on January 7, 1955 in North Carolina to Elmer Ray Carmon Sr. and Hildred Carmon, he moved to Baltimore, Maryland, at the age of two.

Elmer's journey began as a bright light in our world. He attended City High School and obtained his diploma in 1971. He cherished time with his family and friends and was deeply committed to his recovery in NA, mentoring his sponsees and guiding them through their sobriety. He was known for his resilience-always getting back up when he fell. Tragedies never defined his path; instead, he embraced life with a warm smile and a gentle couch chat drew people to him. Those who had the privilege of knowing him would say that he truly lived, loved, and laughed.

He is now reunited in eternal peace with his beloved wife, Brenda; his parents, Elmer and Hildred; and his sister, Hildred Gray.
