Obituary

On Friday, January 13, 2012, God in His infinite wisdom called Elsie home to receive her reward. Elsie Mildred Hunter, was born on February 23, 1933, the eldest daughter of the late Oscar Payton Hunter and Lillian Griffin Hunter. She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at an early age. She was educated in the Baltimore Public school System and was a graduate of Frederick Douglas High School. Upon graduation, she worked at the Perfect Garment Clothing Company. Later she was employed with the social Security Administration until her retirement in 1996. Elsie was an excellent seamstress. she loved to laugh, and enjoyed watching comedy and game shows. Her favorite game shows were "Jeopardy" and "Wheel of Fortune." Elsie was also a mystery buff and loved to read Perry Mason and Agatha Christie novels. "Matlock " was one of her favorite mystery shows. stamp collecting became one of her hobbies. A few years age, she joioned The Waxter Center for Senior Citizens to enroll in their crocheting and computer classes. Each summer, she looked forward to the annual crab feast sponsored by the Social Security Retirees. There wasn't a crab that she did not like - she ate them year round. Elsie loved model trains and dollhouses. She would look through dollhouse catalogs and marvel at the craftsmanship of the miniature furniture. Once Kristen was born, her new hobby was creating photo albums featuring her "Krissy Girl." Although her health was poor, Elsie never wavered in her deep faith and trust in God. She leaves to cherish her loving memory; hr daughter, Wanda L. Williams affectionately known as "Bunnie," niece, Royalette Lette, Duvall: nephew-in-law, Christopher Duvall: sister-in-law, Jean Smith; and the light of her life, great-niece, Kristen Krissy Girl Duvall. Preceding her in death are; sister, Mary Baby Sis; brother-in-law; Royal Q. Smith; and nephew Royal Jr.
