Emily Spriggs, age71,passedawaypeacefullyon January 20, 2020 afteralong fight withAlzheimer's.She wasbornon January 25,1948 to the late Emory Donovan Spriggs andAddieHolmes Gorman.

Emilywas born andraisedinBaltimore City'sUpton neighborhood where sheattended Western HighSchool.Afterleaving high schoolshewas employed asa411telephone operatorat the C&P Telephone Company. Shelovedtodance, play spades,read romance novels, watch karate movies and write poetry. Sometimes she'd dress up and visit Lexington Market tolistentothe bandsand dance. She made numerous friendswherever she wentandwillbegreatlymissed by everyone.

Her family has sent her hometo heaven. But,ifyou see Ms. Emily on the Avenue or near the Program tell her"Go home or elseyou'regonna call her son and daughter".And we will come get her.

She leavestomourn herson, Robert; daughter, Sherry;granddaughters Monique AbramsandTymeishaBates; grandsons, Robert Spriggs II,Robert Spriggs III, Jamaal Wiltonand Denzel Spriggs; sixgreat-grand- daughters and eight great-grandsons.She is survived by her sister, Ada "Peggy" Spriggs; two brothersJosephGorman and DonovanSprggs;one aunt Vivian Spellman, a hostnieces, nephewsother relativesandfriends. Three sisters precede her in death,GloriaChew,Jeanette GardnerandAlice Marshall;twobrothers,Davtd Gorman and Kirk Spriggs.
