IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Erlene
Jones
August 9, 1928 – January 11, 2016
ERLENE JONES was born to Robert and Pearl Chambers August 9,
1928 in Baltimore, Maryland. She was called to glory on January 11,
2015.
Erlene received her education in the Baltimore City Public School System.
Erlene was a young bride and wed James Nelson Jones who gave his life
in service to our country. She worked for the City of Baltimore for many
years before resigning to care for her mother.
Erlene was known for her quick wit and direct personality. She had a way
of telling it how it is, with compassion. Every conversation with Erlene
was a lesson. Erlene was a huge movie buff, she owned and operated the
family video library and nobody wanted their name in liTHE BOOK".
Erlene loved her BINGO and could talk about liTHE WORlD" for hours.
Erlene was an amazing cook and her cakes and pies were unrivaled.
Erlene accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at a young age. Later in
life, she made her church home New Shiloh Baptist Church. Erlene was
preceded in death by two of her children Patricia and Bruce Jones.
She leaves to cherish her memory: seven children, James Jones, Michael
Jones, Emily Paige, Adrian Lawson, Joan Smith, Jean Floyd, and Tammy
Jones; one brother, Albert Chambers and a host of grandchildren, great-
grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Erlene's daughters followed in the footsteps of their mother, overseeing
her care and ensured her wish to stay at home was carried out. Jean's
previous nursing skills were invaluable during this difficult time.
