IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Erma
Moseley
August 7, 1943 – September 19, 2018
On Wednesday, September 19, 2018 an angel whispered to Erma,
she had fought a great fight and now it was time to come home.
Erma "Mousse" Moseley was born on August 7, 1943 to the late
Albert and Eleanor Jackson of Baltimore, Maryland. She was the
oldest of the six siblings, two (Regina and Reginald) who preceded
her in death. She was a really great older sister, whom everyone
depended upon.
Erma was a product of Baltimore City Public Schools and later in life,
earned her GED. Growing up she loved to cook. As a young adult,
Erma, owned and operated her own restaurant. Though her passion
was cooking, she worked in various formidable occupations. Along
with her sister, Carolyn, she became one of the first females to work
at the Brooklyn Brick yard. After the brick yard closed, she became
one of the only female tile setters in Maryland.
Erma birthed five children and later married Robert J. Moseley. As a
wife and mother, her true nurturing nature was exemplified. Her
positive nature and giving spirit were always on display. Erma
would help anyone who was in need. People loved her because
she was always willing to step in and step up to get the job done.
There was never a job to big or to small that she would not
help with, often taking the lead.
Erma's passions were taking care of all her grandchildren, traveling,
going to casinos, watching her Orioles or Ravens and getting in her
car and hitting the road. She loved playing cards with family and
friends, into the wee hours of the morning. She loved the lottery
and knew, every car license plate on the block. When she had idle
time, you could find her at a race track somewhere in the
tri-state area.
Those who knew her, knew, she was a spiritual woman, who loved
the Lord. She was baptized at Saint Paul Baptist church and later
joined Mount Tabor Baptist church. Her love of the Lord sustained
her and was strengthen as she fought like a warrior, to come back
from three comas, diabetes, high blood pressure, strokes,
glaucoma and seizures.
Erma leaves to cherish her memories: her children
(Yvonne, Wayne, Lois, Veronica and Jacqueline), fourteen
grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchil-
dren (with two on the way), siblings (Carolyn, Delores and Denise),
nieces, nephews, in-laws and whole host of friends.
