IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Estelle
Corprew
October 16, 1942 – October 28, 2016
Estelle Corprew, was born on October 16,1942 in Baltimore, Maryland. After a valiant battle with cancer, Estelle ascended to take her place amongst the angels on Friday, October 28,2016.
Estelle was born to Mr. and Mrs. Bernard and Melvina Corprew, whom preceded her in death. She grew up in a large, loving family; with five sisters and two brothers. Estelle attended Venable High School where she studied Business Administration. After graduation, Estelle devoted herself to raising her family. She earned a living for many years working at the Purity Creamery Restaurant and the Sea Horse Restaurant.
Estelle was also a student of the 'school of life' and the many lessons she learned molded her into the iron-willed, private, yet very out-spoken woman loved by family and friends alike. Estelle's trademark outspokenness was part of her charm, and she was well respected by anyone whom had the pleasure of making her acquaintance. Estelle was direct in conversation and she freely expressed what she thought or how she felt about any matter.
Estelle was a woman who appreciated the simple things in life. She took great pleasure in attending family gatherings that afforded her the opportunity to enjoy the people she loved so dearly. A great cook, Estelle enjoyed making meals for her family. Some of her specialty dishes were fried chicken, greens and sweet potato pies. Ever the TV aficionado, she could often be found watching an episode of 'The Price is Right' or 'Family Feud', while enjoying Lorna Doone Cookies and a Diet Pepsi. Estelle's loved to travel and this love was evident, as she insisted on taking annual trips to Ocean City with her family.
A loving sister, protective mother, fun-loving grandmother and a true friend, Estelle remained involved with her family and resolute to her will to fight her illness. Estelle was a reverent woman who knew the Lord. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior on April 13, 1998.
Estelle leaves to honor her life and celebrate her legacy, her children: Sandra & Randy Dillard, April Corprew, Gloria Corprew and Bernard & Sherry Corprew; her siblings:
Pearl Corprew, Bernard & Eloise Corprew, William Corprew & Phyllis Alexander, and Evelyn Corprew; her grandchildren: Lisa Dillard, Keyona Simms, Nicole & Gabriel Robinson, Cantrail Warren, Randy & Shanga Dillard, Dominique Owens, Jason Dillard, Bernard Corprew, Jr., Brittany Corprew, Monica Chester, Charles Chester, Lashawn Gray, and Charmaine Corprew. Also part of Estelle's beloved legacy are her 18 great-grandchildren, several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and treasured friends. Estelle was preceded in death by her sisters, Helen Myers and Melvina Johnson; her daughter, Estelle Corprew; and grandson, Vernon Owens.
