Ms. Esther Holloway was born in Allensville (Person County), North Carolina on May 24, 1935. She was the daughter of Mr. Robert Lee Holloway (deceased) and Ms. Mary Belia Roberson (deceased). Esther had one sister, Mrs. Shirley Mae Thompson who preceded her in death. She grew up in Person County but later moved to Baltimore, Maryland. She went home to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on January 1, 2021.

Esther born four children with Mr. Robert Columbus Hines, who preceded her in death. She worked for more than 20 years as a dedicated nurse at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.

Esther was lovingly known by as "Cousin Esther" or Aunt Esther", but her grandkids and great-grand kids more affectionately called her "Granny". She enjoyed scratching off lottery tickets in hopes to win it big, and once won $30,000 on a $3.00 ticket which she couldn't wait to share her winnings with her family. When family members would come to visit in her illness, they would often ask her if she knew who they were. To which she always replied, "Yes I know who you are", but as soon as you would leave the room she would say, "Who the .... was that?" and we would all laugh. That was her way and we all loved her for being who she was. She also loved to watch all the housewives and do all kinds of crossword puzzles to keep her mind sharp.

Family was important to Esther. She loved her children, treasured her grandchildren, and adored her great-grandchildren more than life itself. She was always happy to see them come by and visit or sit on her lap to make her smile. Nothing made her as happy as when all the kids would come together to show her love. In her final days, her great-grandson, Lil Donte brought her so much joy and happiness, as she was always saying, "Come here Pookie" with the biggest smile ever on her face!

Esther leaves to cherish her memories two devoted sons, Robert Anthony Hines and Kelvin Hines, two devoted daughters, Deconda Denise Hines and Debra Ann Hines (Grandy), a loving step-son Mr. Edward Lee Grandy Jr, four grandsons, Michael Nathaniel Saulsbury Jr, Dustin Ross Saulsbury, James Linwood Johnson Jr, and Donte Jawon Campbell, two devoted granddaughters, Daiesha Janae Campbell and Beonckia McManus, one grand-daughter-in-law, Tiara Saulsbury, three great-granddaughters, Ariyanda Parker Saulsbury (LaShanda Greene), Jasmine Danayje Campbell (Victoria Johnson), Astrea Danielle Johnson (Shalonda Faison), one great-grandson, Donte "Lil Donte" Jawon Campbell Jr (Tierra Johnson), and a host of loving relatives and friends. Esther was loved by all and will be truly missed.
