Ethel Hubbard , daughter of the late Roberta and John John-
son was born on November 15, 1938 in Baltimore, Maryland.
Her Lord and Savior called her home from labor to rest on
October 9, 2017 after a lengthy illness.

Ethel was one of six siblings all which preceded her in death.

Ethel was blessed in Holy Matrimony to James Hubbard who
also preceded her in death.

Ethel was educated in the Baltimore City School System. She
graduated from Douglass High School in 1956 where she
received her high school diploma.

Ethel accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savoir at an early
age. She grew up in Waymans AME Church which was her
family home church. Later in life she joined the Southern
Friendship Baptist Church under the leadership Rev. Dr. John
Torbit Jr., where served faithfully for many years even during
her sickness. Some of the ministries she served on were, the
Nurses Unit, Pastor's Aide, and the Flower Circle. She also
committed herself completely to Bible Study, Sunday School
and the nursing home ministry until her sickness prevented
her. Ethel served faithfully in any effort, capacity or objectives
that the church requested.

Ethel was a quiet and gentle child of God. She was very soft
spoken but full of love. No one could ever question her
belonging to the Master, it spoke for itself in her demeanor and
deeds. She was one of the pillars of Southern Friendship
Baptist Church. She faithfully volunteered at Pauls Place until
her illness.

Ethel leaves to mourn: her only child, a son, Arnold Matthews;
sister-in-law, Alverta Johnson and a host of nieces, nephews
and cousins. She also leaves to mourn her caregiver, Tracy and
life long friend, Cleveland Coson.
