Etta Louise Byrd , daughter of the late Lucille and Walter Jackson was born
on June 12, 1942 in Baltimore, Maryland. She departed this life at home on
January 7, 2018 after a tough battle with lung cancer.

She received her education in the Baltimore City Public School System. She
also attended Coppin State University obtaining multiple degrees.

After college she gained employment at the Social Security Administration and
was a loyal and dedicated employee until she retired on February 2,2009.

Etta, Harey or Mama as she was called by many could throw down in the
kitchen, and wouldn't mind sharing her delicious food with any and everyone.
Etta loved to dance and listen to her oldies but goodies.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lucille and Walter Jackson; sons,
Myers Johnson Jr. and Tyree Higgins Jr.; brothers, Charles Hughes Sr., Lloyd
Jackson Sr., and Walter Jackson Jr. and grandson-in-law, Antoine Mayo.

She leaves to cherish her memory: sisters, Nannette Jackson and Janice Rhodes;
brother, Darrell Jackson; granddaughters, Takiyah Mayo and Tyra Hughes;
grandson, Christopher Johnson Sr.; grandson-in-law, Anthony Hughes; 11 great
grandchildren, Tyona, Cerrell, Aniya, Tykia, Ty'Quan, Ty'Shawn, Ty'Juan,
Tyion, Christopher Jr., Aiden and Ameria; 2 great great grandchildren, Khailia
