Etta Gerald was born on February 1, 1931 in Lake City, South Carolina to the late Ella and Gaza (Neely) Singletary. She departed this life and gained her wings on Friday, February 5, 2021 after a lengthy illness at the age golden of 90.
All her life, Etta was dedicated to the service of God and loving her family and many friends. Etta was a member of the Mount Hebron Baptist Church, in Baltimore, where she served the Lord through The Willing Workers and the Missionaries...always giving and never asking for anything in return or complaining, was her greatest legacy.
Etta was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System, graduating from Douglas High School. Etta was a cook working for Johns Hopkins University, then settling at Notre Dame College of Md. where her food was loved by many until she retired.
She married Waddell Gerald in 1976 and from the union two children were born Waddell Gerald Jr and Sherry Gerald, also from a previous marriage and her late husband she leaves her son Gary Hall and stepdaughter Dorothy Drayton.
She was preceded in death by her daughters, Valerie Grandy and Barbara Grandy, and her Granddaughter Uprinia Miller.
Etta leaves behind to mourn her, two sons Gary Hall and Waddell Gerald Jr, one daughter Sherry Gerald, her grandchildren, Veronica Gerald, Cynetria and Donte Carr, and Gary D. Hall and her great grandchildren Brandi Miller, Brandon Miller and Dartanyun Carr and her God son Kevin Timmons and God daughter Darlene Wheatley all of Baltimore, MD. She also leaves behind her two nieces Cory and Quinn Singletary and her dear cousin Laura Greene, who was more, the Sister she never had. Etta also leaves behind a host of Grands and Great-Grands in South Carolina and extended family and friends too numerous to list who will cherish her memory and Love always.
