Etta Mae Williams, daughter of the late Tom Easter and Jennie Easter Copeland, was born on April 12, 1921, in Emporia, Virginia. She went home to be with the Lord on August 11, 2006, after a brief illness. She was the last of nine siblings. She recieved her education in the public school system of Emporia, Virginia. At an early age, she met Cal Williams of Greenville, North Carolina. On October 31, 1936, Cal and Etta were united in marriage. From this union, eight children were born. In the early 1940's they migrated from Emporia, Virginia to Baltimore, Maryland where they became gainfully employed. In 1945, she became a lifelong member of St. Paul Evangelical Chritian Church, under the leadership of Elder Antoinette V. Linares and Bishop Jose Linares. Momma, as she was affectionately known by everyone, made and befriended many in her life. She leaves to cherish her memory five generations: five daughters, Annie Washington, Pearl Williams, Helen Ford, Agnes Brown, and Delcenia Williams; three sons, Charles Williams, Cal Williams Jr. and Irvin Williams both deceased; one daughter-in-law, Patricia Williams; twenty-two grandchildren, one deceased; seventy-six great grandchildren and twelve great-great grandchildren.
