Obituary

Eugene Woodward son of the late Oscar C. Woodward, Sr. and late Eunice Woodward was born on August 9, 1960 in Baltimore, Maryland. He departed this life on Monday, August 5, 2024 after a lengthy illness.
Gene attended public schools in Baltimore, Maryland. He majored in auto mechanics which lead him to be employed as a mechanic for the MTA. Eugene became an independent contractor and owner of two tracker trailers. He purchased his first truck in 1995. Eugene was a excellent businessman receiving his first designer patent in 2021. He wrote a children book entitled "Timmy The Tow Truck". Maryland Food Bank saw Eugene often when he took the time to be a help to others.
Eugene was a great musician. He was very creative and gifted with producing snappy tunes. Gene was self taught and was anointed by God. Those Saturday afternoon jam session were off the chain. Eugene was a lover of all types of music. His was very gifted on the athletic side. Beside Marshal Arts and wrestling, he was good at baseball, football, swimming, just to name a few sport activities. Gene would always make time to go fishing. That was his way to gain some solitude.
Gene had a lot of friends. In his earlier years, There was one particular friend name Jerry Peay who's birthday happens to be on the same day as Gene. The two of them decided to build Pidgeon coupes and home some family pigeons. They would have Pidgeon shows that demonstrated how trained the birds were as the homing pidgin lead the flocks back to their separate homes. Today Jerry lives in CA with a pidgeon coupe in his backyard.
In the later years, Gene met Elder Aaron McGray in 1984. They instantly became blood brothers upon meeting. Not too long after meeting the both of them formed a group of close knitted passionate friends, (The Brotherhood). Aaron and the group referred to Eugene as Gabby Haynes, a cartoon like character. Gene got this name because Gene was a jokesters and always have you in stiches. Gene would have the last say! His favorite quote was "Let It Be Written, Let It Be Done!" Every three months, The Brotherhood would meet together to fellowship at different restaurants around town.
