Eula butler, daughter of the late Green and Rebecca Lewis, was born on August 9, 1914 in Mullins, South Carolina. She departed this life to return to our Heavenly home on Wednesday, March 30, 2011. She received her education in the Mullins, South Carolina School System. At a very age, she had to work in the cotton fields of South Carolina along with her parentas and other siblings. She was one of twenty-three children. At the age of seventeen, she gave birth to her eldest child Alonzo Lewis deceased. She raised him as a single parent. In the past, the birth of a child out of wedlock was shun upon. She did not let that hold her back, she stayed strong. She married the late Joseph Crawford deceased in 1934 and out of this union three children were born, Betty, Forestdeceased and Mary Frances Crawford deceased. Later in life she married her second husband Joe Butler deceased. She was known to her great-grandchildren as "G-Granny," in her own words, "Great-Grandma, makes me sound old." At the time of this statement she was eighty-seven years old." She made friends with all who came in her presence. She was loved dearly by her family and friends. She will be missed by all. She leaves to mourn; her daughter, Betty L. Williams; son-in-law, Solomon Williams; two daughters-in-law, Liilie "Louise" Lewis son, Alonzo's wife and Jelitha Crawford son, Forest's wife; eighteen grandchildren, Doris Johnson Millard, Diane Stanley Stan, Darnette Johnson, Bobbie Carroll Robert, Vanessia Kornegay Sidney, William Johnson Tavasha, Pamela Johnson, Matthew Lewis, Betty "Joyce"" Greene, Janet Lewis, Marlene Hardy, Willie Dixon, Wanda Gillard, Arthur Crawford, Debbie Crawford, Cheryl Crawford deceased, Deprese Crawford and Renda Crawford; sister, Sara Mae Wingate; thirty great-grandchilden, thirty-nine great-great-grandchildren, eight great-great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
