Eunice Marie Beatty Hankins, was born to the late Timothy Beatty and Tamara Inez Beatty Rose, on November 4, 1945 in Wilmington, North Carolina. After a three year battle with cancer, God called Eunice from labor to rest on August 24,2016, 7:40 a.m.

Eunice, known as Marie, attended Baltimore City Public Schools until she ventured into the workforce holding down several long standing positions. Marie's life was filled with many blessings, events and people. From loving unions came five blessings resulting in 48 descendants.

Marie raised her family and made her mark in Westport, a place where everyone knows "Marie". It did not stop there - Marie would cook you a meal, care for your sick and still clean your house better than you could. She was "Hazel"! She also had a hand in raising all of her nieces, nephews, grandchildren and their friends. Once she settled down, or so we thought, Marie cared for her mother, grandmother, and her oldest living aunt and uncle.

Marie had a strong faith in God. She solely trusted on Him - never doubting. She enjoyed Bible reading with her family and singing of her favorite hymn "Precious Lord Take My Hand". She would always say I love the Lord and I know He loves me.

Marie leaves her love and memories to shine through our matriarchs - aunts, Beulah Maxwell and Barbara Shaw; a loving uncle, Troy Maxwell; husband of 45 years, Donald Hankins; Her five children Dennis McGlot- ten,Dentrice McGlotten, Timothy McGlotten (Nancy), Crystal Nelson (Benjamin), and Shannon Hankins; brother, Melvin Beatty; two sisters, Patricia Roles and Sheila Hooper; 13 grandchildren, 30 great grandchil- dren; five sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law, a God-daughter, Shannel, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
