Obituary

Eva Cornelia Philson daughter of the late, Justine Hamilton and Garnell Dan
Evan Sr. was born on May 10, 1952 in Spartanburg, South Carolina. She departed
this life after a short illness on February 22, 2017.

Eva was also called "Evelyn" and affectionately known as "Mama" by all that
loved her.

Eva completed her education in South Carolina and later moved to Baltimore,
Maryland in the early 1980's. She attended school an obtained her Certification in
Geriatric Nursing Assistance.

Eva worked many years as a restorative nurse aide for Genesis Health Care. She
was a faithful employee, reporting to work every day and consistently taking an
active role in the care of her clients. Eva's superior reputation proceeded her in the
health care field, along with being highly sought out, Eva's most profound
accreditation came when she was requested to be the exclusive care giver for her
director's parents at the time of their illness. As a result of Eva's compassion for
her profession it lead her to find additional work, in her field where she established
great relationships with many co-workers over the years, and receiving
"Employee of the Month & Year" several times. Eva Philson will be remembered
by many for years to come for her outspoken words, humorous personality, strong
work ethic and tremendous heart. In May of 2017 Eva was planning to retire after
30 wonderful years of faithful service.

Eva loved all of her grandchildren and loved spending time with them. During her
time of illness her youngest grandson Kwen became her daily dose of laughter
with his comical personality.

Eva was a committed member at Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church for
over 30 years. While at Bethel, she served as a greeter and attended Sunday school
faithfully. Her favorite past-times were eating and going to church. She was a
strong believer in Jesus Christ, understanding that this life is just a pit stop to
eternity. She would often say "Don't say good bye, say see you later."

Eva was preceded in death by her son Kenneth Black, brother Jerry Black and her
dearest friend Donna. She leaves to mourn her spirit her daughters, Skevon
Philson-Carlton (Jerrnaine), and Christa Philson-Daniels (Reginald); six grand-
children, Ebony, Kenneth Jr., Keon, Charity, Brandon, and Kwen; five great
grandchildren; four sisters, Linda, Rosalyn, Cornelia and Lawanna; four brothers,
