EVELYN ADAMS, daughter of the late Walter and Minnie Joseph, was born on June 25, 1945. Evelyn who is known to her family and friends as Abbey was called home on July 17,2013 after a lengthy illness. Evelyn received her education in the Baltimore City Public School System. She was employed by various hospitals and retirement homes. Evelyn found her greatest fulfillment working in pediatrics units. Evelyn confessed Jesus as her personal Lord and Savior and was Baptized in His name at The Bible Revival Deliverance Church of Baltimore, Maryland. Evelyn truly loved the Lord and studied her Bible diligently. You could call her day or night about a scripture and she would give her insight. Evelyn served for many years as an usher in the church. Her conviction was "I'd rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness. " (Psalm 84:10) Serving with passion, Evelyn felt strongly that ushers should show pride in their appearance and be neatly dressed in and uniformed. At the time of her passing she was a faithful member of Christ Redeemed Ministries. Evelyn had a servant's heart and availed herself to whoever needed her. She also gave unselfishly. If you didn't need it she would make you take it...anyway. You could not leave her home without a bag. Evelyn loved her family. She had a habit of spoiling her nephews and grandsons. There was something special about the boys. During the last days of her natural life Evelyn was surrounded by her beloved family. We will miss her loving presence. Evelyn was preceded in death by her sisters; Erma Richardson, Mary Turnage, Zelma Franklin and Jean Allison. She leaves to cherish her life and mourn her passing: her husband, William Adams: Three daughters; Yvonne Reed, Gina Adams, Nikeria Adams: Five grandchildren; Tavon Cole, Terrance Cole, Damien Reed, Nicholas Adams, Lakiya Adams: One great grandson; Kylin Cole: One son-in-law; Ganey Reed: Three sisters; Marie Robertson, Barbara Joseph, Annette Johnson: One brother; Leonard Joseph: One sister-in-law; Leonnaria Joseph: One brother-in-law; John Allison. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Viewing Joseph H. Brown Jr. Funeral Home
