Evelyn daughter of Mr. James Brockington and the late Corraine Brockington was born Febuary 14, 1942 in Florence, S.C. She departed this life Thursday June 8, 2006 at home after a brief illness. She was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System. She later met and married the Nathan Teddy Diggs and moved to New York and became a member of Little Mount Bethel Church where she served on the Usher Board. Evelyn worked several jobs but found true happiness when she went to work at Nynex Phone Company of New York, were she retired after 33 years of service. In 1995 Evelyn moved back to Baltimore, to take care of her grandmother Mrs. Julia Williams and Uncle David she later became a member of Wayman Memorial A.M.E. Church under the leadership of the late Pastor U. Brooks. She loved her church and the may friends she met at Wayman. Evelyn loved the Lord and spent many hours studing her Bible. She loved her family and friends games like scrabble and Uno. She was like a mother to many and she will be missed os much. She leaves to cherish her memories her father Mr. James Brockington, five sisters Cynthia, Evette, Sylvia,Wyonia, Cassandra, sister Elaine preceded her in death. Eight brothers Donald, Rodney, David, James Jr., Virgil, Julio, Cecil, and Dana, Thomas TC and Tyriek whom she cared for like they were her own children. One aunt Lillie Wilson three sister-in-laws Carolyn, Connie and Reginia, four special life long friends, Sylvia Jordon, Skeet, Lenny and Betty. A large host of nephews, nieces, cousins, love ones and friends. All of which she loved very much.
