IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Evon
Ruffin
June 20, 1952 – November 1, 2017
On Wednesday, November 1, 2017 Evon Darcel Ruffin triumphantly and victoriously transitioned to Glory to be with her Father God,
Evon, affectionately known as "Emon', 'Mama', 'Auntie', 'Shorty', "Ruff', "Big Sis', or 'Moo Moo', the beloved daughter of the late James H. Profit and Juanita O. Bryan, was bom on June 20, 1952 in Baltimore, Maryland. Evon was the elder of her three sisters, one of which preceded her death.
Evon was educated in the Baltimore Public Schools System and graduated from Forest Park Senior High School. After high school, Evon was employed with Blue Cross & Blue Shields and worked there for nearly twenty years where she retired.
On August 19,1972 Evon Ruffin married the love of her life, Joseph' Joe' Ruffin. Joe who proceeded her in death.
At an early age, Evon was baptized and accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and became a member of Shiloh Christian Community Church, under the late Reverend George W. Baynard, until the Installment of Reverend Jimmy C. Baldwin. She treasured serving in the church and cherished praising the Lord. Evon remained a faithful member of Shiloh for over 45 years and served as an usher for over 40 years.
Evon never met a stranger. She thought of every person as family. If she met you, you were immediately adopted into the family. She had a deep affinity for traveling, food, fashion and bowling. Most of all, Evon enjoyed being with her family and loved her steamed crabs. She was a loving and caring person, devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, godmother, and friend. She always thought of others first, often times giving her last. Evon would give you her heart if she did not need it.
Evon leaves to carry on her legacy: a devoted Mother, Juanita Bryan; Father, Frank Bryan (Pop Frank); Sisters, Carolyn Paul, Ginger Bryan, and Angela Morris; Brother, Reginald Jackson; One adopted son, Lambert 'Charlie' Bufler; Two adopted Daughters, Letisha 'Tutti' Butler and Tiffany Betts; Cousins: Sharon, Renee, Diane, Flecia 'Deli'; Nephews and Nieces: Derrick (Tiffany), Timothy Jr., Tia (David), Glen 'Whooty', Lorenzo "Buber', Shrinda and Charlita; Two God-daughters: Tiffani and Shanell; Special Friend, Albert Love; Childhood Friends: Roxanne, Kookie, and Lillian; Blue Cross & Blue Shields Posse: Bessie, Ronnie, Sharon, Jackie; Cye, Cherry and Carolyn, and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.
