Obituary

Frances Garner Bellamy Jones, one of three children, was born on September 8, 1950 to the late John and Addie Mae Gamer in Chesterfield, South Carolina. She departed this life on October 12, 2016 from a battle with breast cancer.

Frances "Fluffy" was educated in Tabor City, North Carolina and graduated from Douglass High.

In 1978, she joined Emmanuel Christian Community Church where she served on numerous committees; Usher Board, Junior Usher Board Advisor, Parent Board, and Van Driver for the Seniors. In 1999, she joined The First Corinthian Baptist Church under the Leadership of Reverend Henry Turner. In addition to volunteering in church, Frances was a member of numerous organizations; The Elks Frances Ellen Walkins Temple#429, The Red Hatters, and The Golden Girls.

On September 20,2003, she married the late Thomas Hylton Jones, Sr. Frances was a hard worker and for 13 years she worked as a Medical Records Secretary at University Pediatric Center. From 2003 until her illness, she worked at Sandtown Nursing Home as a Geriatric Nursing Assistant and Patient Escort. Frances enjoyed working with people and people loved working with her as well.

Frances was a person who a person that was always willing to help people, no matter how big or little the task. With her as a friend, you had a friend for LIFE!

Frances leaves to cherish precious memories with her son, Steve McDonald, Jr. (Stacy); two stepsons, Thomas Jones, Jr.(Helen) and Bobby Jones; one step daughter, Lorna Adkins (Bobby K.); four grandchildren, Sydney, Steve III, Goldie, and Clarence IV; one brother Billy Gamer of Tabor City, NC; one sister, Lottie Charles; four nephews, , Anthony, Billy Ray, Joshua, and Calvin; two nieces, Billy Jean and Tenae; three Godchildren, Shenita, Patricia, and Travon; special friends, Amanda, Marlene, Monica, Cynthia, Ernestine, Maryilyn, Martha, and Steve, Sr., and a host of other family and friends.
