Obituary

FRANCES VENITA MUNDELL-BROWN, daughter of the late Clarence E.
Mundell and Elzina H. Edwards-Mundell, was born on November 2,1948. Frances
was the second born of eight children. She was affectionately called "Babysis" or
"Baysis." She departed this life on February 16, 2019. She received the call from
her Savior and left on that glorious morning train.

Frances was baptized and received her Christian training as a member of Mt.
Pilgrims Baptist Church. She spoke of how her parents and siblings would attend
church services having walked seven miles from their home in Severn to the church
in Hanover. She also spoke of singing on the choir, the fellowship, and hearing her
Grandmother, Bessie, testifying and being filled with the spirit. Later in life, she
became a member of Provide the Word Church Ministries. Frances knew and loved
the Lord.

Frances was educated in the Anne Arundel County Public School System. For a
time, she attended Wiley H. Bates High School. Due to its closing, she later
graduated from Arundel Senior High School. She would often share stories of
people she befriended during those golden years.

After high school, Frances held several jobs but there was one she talked about the
most, Shelburne Plastics. She had been a loyal employee until she retired. There
she made life-long friendships that brought her much joy.

Frances never had any children of her own but she did help raise Donald Brown Jr.,
her step-son, alongside her former husband, Donald Brown Sr. She also claimed all
of her nieces and nephews as her own children.

In her leisure time, Frances loved to do many different things such as crossword
puzzles like her mother, cooking, taking trips to the beach, and fishing. She loved
reading novels and watching movies on DVD. She loved to spend time with family
in which she always let her light shine by making people smile and laugh due to her
comedic personality. She loved music and cherished her vinyl record collection.
She would often have her brother-in-law Tyrone use his stereo system to convert
her favorite records to cassette tapes, so she could listen to them in her car over the
years. Of all these things, Frances will surely be missed and remembered by all who
share in her memory.

Of her eight siblings, Frances was preceded in death by four of her siblings; Samuel
Mundell, Donald Mundell, Joann Mundell-Wen, and Larry Edwards. Oh what ajoy
it must have been when each of them welcomed their sister home in Zion.

Frances leaves to mourn: Donald Brown Sr.; step-son, Donald Brown, Jr.; three
brothers, Clarence, Garfield, and Wayne Mundell; one sister, Mable Fletcher; one
brother-in-law, Enoch Wen; two sisters-in- laws, Doris Mundell and Rosalind
Ashanti-Alexander; an uncle, Frank Mundell; aunts, Ada Gambrill and Clara
Garland; two grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and
friends.
