FRANCES CORMELIA MADISON was born on September 24, 1932 to the late Richard Ford and Mary Ford in Baltimore, Maryland. Frances was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System. Frances was employed with Maryland General Hospital for fifteen years and Harbor Hospital for twenty years until she retired in 1999. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren called her '"Big Mama;" though she was a little under five feet, she had a big voice. No grass grew under her feet. She loved to travel and she adored shopping, loved listening to oldies but goodies movies and looking at movies. Frances had a lot of strength and courage and quite outspoken until the day she departed. She was also quite the conversationalist. Her favorite saying was, "Don't say nothing you can't prove in black and white." She loved animals, especially turtles, elephants and golden retrievers. Frances was preceded in death by: four grandchildren, Kevin Ford, Victonio Spencer, Brenda Johnson and Saifullah Afzal; two brothers, Joseph Ford and Henry Ford; and sister, Rachel Thuku. Frances leaves to cherish her memory: seven daughters, Lavinia Cheeves-Beauford, Marilyn Spencer, Sharon Ford, Tanya Madison, Mary Rose Madison, Vernetta Jenkins and Tereska Pelaur Lee; two sons, Paul Madison and Don David Madison; sister, Katherine Stevenson; brother, Richard Ford Jr.; twenty-eight grandchildren, seventeen greatgrandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Madison; three sons-in-law, Reginald McNeill, Andre Beauford and Frank Lee; a special granddaughter who helped to care for her in her time of need, Crystal Sedgwick; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
