Frances Penny, daughter of the late Willie and Annie Bell Jenkins was bornAugust 15, 1943 inCharleston, South Carolina. On February 14, 2020 at theage of 76 Frances went home to be with the Lord.
Frances was educated in the Washington, DC Public School System.She held various jobs, Morton's, Leaner's Doctors Hospital and HechtWarehouse that she held for 32 years until she retired.
Frances was known as Mama and affectionately known as "Jelly" by herdaughter, Yolanda. Frances was loved by many that knew her for her great cookingand her. spiritual conversations. Frances loved to watch her talkshows, listen to Bishop TD Jakes and spend time with her family.
Frances received the Lord at an early age of 10. Frances jointed NewSamaritan Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Robert Harrison and Bishop Kelsey. Before her passing she was a proud founder motherof Spirit of Grace Worship Center under the leadership of Pastor MaceoParker.
Frances leaves to cherish: her daughters, Yolanda Penny and Tina Penny;grandchildren, Eric James, Shawna James; 35 stepkids; numerous grand-
kids and great-grandkids; one brother, Joseph Sumter and Leola Sumter;one aunt, Annie Bell Shands; one godson, Ivory Graham; one goddaughter,Katrina Jones; sisters-in-law Geneva,Doretha, Marlene; brothers-in-law:Lonnie and Charlie; best friends, Mildred and Shirley; a host of nieces,nephews, cousins, other family members and friends. Frances parents and
husband, Alfred Penny preceded her in death; a special friend David Bell.
