Freddie Alexander Wilson, son of the late Frankie and Agnes Wilson was born November 20, 1943 in Howard County, Maryland. Following a brief illness, he departed this life for The Greater One on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at Franklin Square Seasons Hospice in Baltimore, Maryland. Freddie received his formal education in the public schools of Howard County and his religious training at Hopkins Chapel, now Hopkins United Methodist Church. He later became a member under the pastorate of Reverend Sandra Demby. Freddie enjoyed Hopkins, especially the singing and fellowship. Freddie retiredfrom the Howard County Public School Systemfollowing 30 years of faithful service. Prior to that he worked for a local construction company, owned by Louis Makel. Freddie had many hobbies! He loved fishing, crabbing, gardening, cooking and decorating, especially his home. According to his cousin, Jesse Smith who visited him frequently, one would have thought he and Linda had used a professional home decorator. He was very family oriented! He loved the family reunions and the family books which included the rich history of one of the oldest black Howard County families ... his family. He leaves to cherish fond memories: his loving and devoted wife and companion, Linda Barnes; three daughters, Vanessa Chase, Angela and Vanzella Barnes; five sisters, Evelyn Nicholson, Mildred Wilson, Agnes Anderson, Rosie Bowen and Olivia Anderson; eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren; two brothers-in-law, Johnny Bowen and Earl Anderson; sister-in-law, Earl Wilson; four aunts, Mary Dorsey, Bernice, Glynda and Nellie Wilson, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins who loved Freddie dearly.
