IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Gail E.
Shaw
April 9, 1962 – July 10, 2018
Gail Evette Brice-Shaw, daughter of the late Joseph Tyler and Josephine Brice and was
bom on April 9, 1962 in Baltimore, Maryland. She was the second of four children of
which brother, Kevin Brice, precedes her in death. Gail was raised in Turner Station,
Maryland, where she resided her entire life until her untimely demise. Gail departed
this life peacefully on July 9, 2018 after a brief illness and hospital stay.
At an early age, Gail joined the New Shiloh Baptist Church in Tumer Station, MD
and was baptized under the leadership of late Reverend James Everett. As a youth,
she was a member of the James A Everett Jewels and the Sunbeams Junior
Missionaries.
Gail was educated in the Baltimore County public schools and graduated
from Dundalk High School in 1980. After high school, she held numerous
part-time and temporary jobs until landing a career position with L & M
Packaging. Gail remained gainfully employed with L & M Packaging for
eighteen years where she served as an assembly line packer. Gail was a
dedicated employee and loved her job and her co-workers. She was very
punctual and rarely missed time from work even though she relied on public
transportation.
Gail along with her siblings and cousins: Kim, Terri and Crystal
(who were more like sister) grew up in the family home of 207 Center Street
They were all reared under the watchful eye and switch of their grandmother,
the late Rebecca Curbeam-Brice.
March 7, 1981 Gail gave birth to her only child Antoine Michael Hill. Her son
was the joy of her life. She enjoyed spending time with Antoine bowling and just
taking rides on the bus to the Harbor. She and Antoine had a very close relationship.
They enjoyed their daily talks and making each other laugh.
In August of 2002, Gail married Sylvester Shaw. Sylvester, known to many
as just "Shaw" shared a special bond with Gail. They could often be seen walking
through theneighborhood, catching the bus or visiting relatives together. Gail found
joy in staying at home and watching the Ufetime channel. She also enjoyed sitting on
herporch and talking to neighbors with her husband. In November 2007, Gail and
Shaw became guardian/parents to their niece, Kamiah Brice. She and Shaw
raised Kamiah extremely dose to Gail and Shaw and continued their special bond.
Kamiah was the daughter Gail never had.
Everyone who knew Gail knows that she loved music and loved to dance. Gail was
always the life of the party and enjoyed cutting up on the dance floor with her Uncle
Harvey. She enjoyed old school music and knew the words to every song. Gail looked
forward to family gatherings and attending special events. She will forever be remem-
bered by her witty personality and signature bangs and ponytail hairstyle.
Gail had a devoted best friend, Stephanie Randolph-Fleming. The two of them
were inseparable, if you saw one you saw the other. They enjoyed spending time,
running errands, taking.trips to Atlantic City and visiting relatives together. Gail's
absence will certainly be a void in Stephanie's life.
Gail leaves to cherish her memory: her husband, Sylvester Shaw; son, Antoine Hill;
mother, Josephine Brice; sisters: Gwendolyn Sutton, Tanya Brice-Reming (Herman),
Kelli Brice (Kevin); sister/cousins: Kim Brice, Terri Wilkerson-Brice and Crystal Brice;
