IN LOVING MEMORY OF
George W.
Able
June 29, 1949 – August 7, 2016
On Sunday morning, August 7, 2016 God in His infinite
wisdom reached out His loving arms and carried George Able
home with Him.
George was born in Charlotte, North Carolina to the late John
and Connie Bates. He received his education through the
Public Schools System in Fairfield County, NC, where he
graduated in 1967. Two years later George joined the Army
where he went on to serve in the Vietnam War. In 1985 George
relocated to Baltimore, Maryland, here he met and fell head
over heels in love with Alice Ford. The two were united in
Holy Matrimony on November 6, 1999. Thru their union they
raised Javon and Sharday. George shared 30 beautiful years
of his life with Alice and family.
George was a devoted employee of 30 years for Grady Smith
and Sons where he became a Forman Brick Mason.
George enjoyed attending the Greater Harvest Baptist Church
with his family under the loving Pastor Rev. Errol D. Gilliard,
Sr.
George fought and overcame many illnesses over the years.
Through ail his illnesses he never gave up faith.
George enjoyed all family gatherings. He enjoyed going fishing,
playing cards, shooting pool, and bowling. Going back
and forth to North Carolina was a hobby. He loved having
conversations about life and giving great advice.
George was favored by his two aunts Tean and Shirley.
George leaves to cherish his memories his loving and devoted
wife Alice Able; two' children, Javon (Katherine) Stith and
Sharday Able; five granddaughters, Kavon, Jada, Skylah,
Da'Nijha and Da'Ziryha; one brother, John "JC" (Sharon)
Bates; one sister, Rosalind (Ray) Ward; mother-in-law,
Shiey Stith; one sister-in-law, Joyce (Wesley) Peay; three
brothers-in-law, James (Gloria) Stith, Keyon Ford and David
Green; eight nieces, Taneshia, Ashley, Omeshia, Nikeya,
Tyese, Tracy Green, Kim Green and Sherelle Smiley; five
nephews, Little Wesley, Justin, Antoine, Little David and
Anthony; two very close and long time friends, Kevin Smith and
Wesley Peay and a host of other relatives and friends.
