George D. Barnes, Jr.

son of the late George Donald Barnes, Sr.,

and Rena Ruth Barnes, was born on No-

ember 6, 1958, in Baltimore, Maryland

He departed this life, unexpectedly on

Thursday, March 31, 2022.

George was educated in the Balti-

more City Public School System, graduat-

ing early from Northwestern High School

He served in the United States Army until

being honorably medically discharged.

After brief employment with the

Federal Government, as a Drug Enforce-

ment Agent, he soon realized he was not

suited for office work and preferred a

hands-on career. He found his calling as a

professional home improvement contrac-

tor. Evidence of his talents can be found

in the homes of many family members,

friends, and the communityGeorge acquired many interests, hob-

bies, and additional talents over the years.

These included playing baseball, roller skat-

ing, listening to music, going dancing, and

playing the drums. When his children were

young, he enjoyed spending days at the park,

going swimming, or watching movies togeth-

r. He loved the summer months, particularly

hosting cookouts, eating crabs and was an

avid car fanatic.George will truly be missed. He

is survived by his mother, Rena Ruth

Barnes, his children, Cortez, George Ill

(Amanda), Travis, Tennara and Ashley;

his grandchildren, Bridgette and Scarlett;

Brother, Johnnie (who always said he was

his brother's keeper); Sisters,

Lettie

Haynes (Willie), and Marsha Haywood

(Keith), and numerous aunts, nieces,

nephews, cousins and other family and friends
