George Bennett Jr., son of the late George Bennett Sr. and Geneva Willis was born on July 13, 1933 in Baltimore, Maryland. He departed this life on Sundday, February 7, 2010. As a young boy George relocated to Camden, South Carolina. His education began in the Baltimore Public School System and was completed in the Camden School System. George returned to Baltimore in his late teens. Shortly after he joined the U.S. Army to defend his country. He received and Honorable Discharge in May 1961. George was employed at Spring Grove Hospital as a Cook for 39 years during this time he received numerous work performance and attendance awards. He leaves to cherish his memories; his devoted wife, Anne E. Bennett; one daughter, Patricia Denise Bennett; one stepson, Anthony L. Casey Vivian; one stepsister, Harriette E. Fentress of Meherrin, Va. one brother who preceded him in death, Powell Bennett; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Ruth Williams; one brother-in-law, Louis Jackson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
