George Richard Brown. aka "JR'. 78. of Columbia.



Maryland. passed away on Wednesday. September 25.

2019 at Howard County General Hospital surrounded by

his family.



A ceremonial cremation will be held at 11:00 A.M .•

Thursday. October 3. 2019 at Joseph H. Brown. Jr.



Funeral Home. 2140 N. Fulton Avenue. Baltimore. MD

21217.



JR was born in Baltimore. Maryland on February 15. 1941

to George Washington and Margaret Theresa Brown. He

graduated from Frederick Douglas High School in 1958



and immediately upon graduation. enlisted in the

United States Navy in 1959. His military career took him

through the Vietnam War and JR as a Chief Petty

Officer in 1982. JR continued to work and was employed

by Lockheed Martin for the next 20 years.



JR was a dedicated husband and the primary caretaker

of his wife who has Alzheimer's. He continued to care

for her until his death. JR was passionate about going to

the race track with his "race track buddies'. He also

enjoyed golfing. reading. watching boxing. and

cheering on the Baltimore Ravens while eating an Ice

cream sandwich. After his. JR enjoyed working in his

younger brother David's store. The Fayette Market.

where he helped in all aspects .



George is survived by his loving wife of 55 years. Terumi

Hiramiya Brown. daughter Christine (Douglas) Miller.

son Peter N. Brown. brothers. David Dominick Brown.



Kevin Eric Brown; sisters. Barbara Elizabeth Barnes.



Regina Charlotte Brown. Cheryl Amy Brown. Stephanie

Theresa Brown. and Eileen Bonita Brown; nieces Kim

McCormick. Tracey Davenport. 5herelle Brown.



Margaret Brown. Simmone Brown; nephews Mark

Booker. Paul Booker. Michael McCormick. Andre Taylor.

Abe Jackson. Randolph A. Brown. Jr.; a number of great

nieces and nephews; and grandchildren Courtney

Brown. Jonathan Miller. Mimi Miller. and Logan Miller.



George was preceded in death by his parents. George

W. & Margaret T. Brown. brothers George Booker.



Stephen Marshall Brown. Leo Christopher Brown. and

nephew Carl Booker.
