Obituary

George Anderson Curry, Jr. the son of Audrey Banks Curry and the late George Anderson Curry Sr. was born on September 24, 1953, in San Diego, California as one of six children. God received him again unto Himself on Monday, August 15, 2011 after a brief illness. George attended Baltimore City public schools, and graduated from Sparrows point high school in 1973 and majored in Engineering at the University of Maryland, College Park. "Butch" as he was known to his family and friends had many talents, and especially enjoyed drawing. A talented artist, he would often been seen sketching portraits of those he loved. An Electrical Engineer by trade, working for several Baltimore companies; Butch worked on the construction crews responsible for the building of prominent structures including: CHOICES, and the Church of the Redeemed of the Lord on Old York Road. In 1982 he married the former Deidre Gambrill, and from that union one daughter, Tiffany Lynette was born. A friendly and outgoing person, George made friends wherever he went. In his spare time, he liked to play cards and always enjoyed a good meal. A trained Black Belt in Martial Arts- he would sit for hours watching karate movies. Many, especially his nephew "Man" have vivid memories of his basement lessons. Left to cherish his memory are: his mother, Audrey Curry; one daughter, Tiffany Lynette Curry; five sisters, Sylvia Ausby; Phyillis Curry; Audrey Curry; Gail Curry; Kim Curry; nine nieces and nephews; and a host of other relative and friends.
