Obituary

George A. Green Sr. affectionately known as "Sarge", "Mr. Green" or "Dad", was born on November 5th 1927 to the late George Green and Rena M. Green. On April 8, 2014, God called upon his angel to ascend a dear husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, friend and partner in the Lord to his heavenly home after a short-term illness. Dad was educated in Auronra North Carolina Public shools. He later came to Baltimore City where he met and married his wife, the late Adalma "Mrs. Peggy" Green and out of this union four children were born; George A. Green Jr. (deceased), Rena M. Gilmore), Deyon, and Dorothy (Dot). He joined the armed forces and served forty years until his honorable discharge. Dad was employed full-time at Bethlehem Steel Corporation as a machine compressor for thirty years-nine year while actively serving in the US Army Reserves. He was the first black/African-American to run the compressor room at Bethlehem Steel. He was a faithful servant of God and a life long member of Shiloh Christian Community Church. He loved Everyone. He was the President of a social club called "The Friendly Seven" in the early 80's during which him and his friends held many crab feasts, bull roasts and social events.
