George Herman Jones Jr., born November 16, 1951 to the union of the late George Herman Jones Sr. & Naomi Kathleen Jones. He transitioned to his new life on December 10, 2014, after a brief stay a Stella Maris. George known to all as "Slickey" was educated in Baltimore City Schools. He began his spiritual journey at the Memorial Baptist Church where he was also a member of the Boy Scouts. At an early age, Slickey showed an interest in music with one of the youth choir directors at Memorial. His favorite hymn was "His Eye Is On The Sparrow". George had a gift of taking things apart and putting them back together. Family and friends came to him to fix or put together things for them. It was how he made his living. Slickey was a people person. His warm personality ande him loved by everyone he came in contact with wherever he went. His hobbies were fishing, walking, collecting and recycling bottles and riding bikes. George was proceded in death by one sister. He leaves to cherish his memory two daughters Alicia Chapman and Melinda Jones; one granddaughter Latavia Cornish; three sisters; four brothers; three sister in-laws, two brother in-laws; one aunt Mamie Foster; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews, great-great nieces and nephews; a devoted friend, Elizabeth Kirby; and a host of other relatives and friends.
