George E Monroe Jr
son of the late Reverend George E. Monroe Sr.
and Viola Pigatt was born on November 18, 1944 in Ghio, North
Carolina. He departed this life on February 28, 2017.
In 1962 he graduated from Carver High School in Laurel Hill, North
Carolina. He was employed at White's Poultry in Rockingham, North
Carolina.
In later years George moved to Baltimore, MD where he met and
married Vivian Perry who preceded him in death. He was employed at
American Office until retirement after working there for over 30 years.
George enjoyed watching sports on television. His favorite sports were
football, basketball and baseball. He was a big fan of the Ravens and
Orioles.
George was a devoted and loving father. He was a true friend and had
a kind spirit. His family would tell him how they loved him and he
would always reply "I love you more". He will truly be missed by all
who had a chance to get to know him.
He leaves to cherish his memory: one daughter, Joyce Monroe
(Baltimore, Maryland); two sons, Benny Monroe (Winston Salem,
North Carolina) and Londell Monroe (Winston Salem, North Carolina);
two stepsons, Irvin Perry (Baltimore, Maryland) and Richard Williams
(Baltimore, Maryland); three sisters, Virginia Robinson (Hamlet, North
Carolina), Carolyn Thompson (Hamlet, North Carolina) and Alphieaus
Swinney (Durham, North Carolina); grandson, Benny Monroe Jr., six
other grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and
friends.
