Gerald Stanley Turner Jerry was born on July 5, 1951, in Baltimore, Maryland to Joseph Turner, Sr. and Mary E. Turner. He was the sixth of eight children. He received his primary education in Baltimore City Public Schools, graduating from Edmondson High School after attending Polytechnic Institute. Jerry continued his pursuit of education at Morgan State College, the University of Maryland College Park, from which he obtained his degree, and the University of Baltimore. With determination and a strong will, Jerry displayed a flair for creativity and imagination, which started in his early years. In adulthood, he held prestigious positions at Provident Hospital, with the State of Maryland on the construction of the subway and in the Baltimore City Public Schools. His long struggle with illness ended on May 8, 2012. Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Sr., and mother, Mary, three brothers, Thomas, Howard and Michael, a sister, Patricia, a niece, Michelle and a nephew Donta'. His passing will be mourned by his only child a son, Christopher, a sister Barbara McDowell and two brothers, Joseph, Jr. and Wayne. also left to mourn are a sister-in-law, Felicia and a host of nephews, nieces and other relatives and friends.
