Geraldine Gene Cannon was born on September 4, 1948, in North Carolina, She was the
daughter of the late James and Victoria Cannon. Geraldine passed on Friday, January 21.
2022.
Geraldine received her education in the Baltimore City Public School System. A proud Poet
she attended Dunbar High School.
Geraldine and her family moved to Baltimore in 1950. She lived her adult life loving and
serving the Lord joining the Burning Light Church on September 7, 1997. Later, she joined
New Jesus Shiloh Apostolic Church under Pastor Fred Hopkins in 2016. She also sang with
the Heavenly Angels Gospel Choir with her sister Joyce. She loved to sing her favorite song
"I Promise The Lord That I Would Hold Out.
" Geraldine loved the Lord and she didn't have
a problem letting you know who her Lord and Savior was. The one thing that she knew was
that she trusted that God would order her foot steps.
Geraldine enjoyed cooking and loved to burn the pots. She valued the time sitting with her
neighbor Ms. Mae and hanging around her best friend and fiance (Luke) of forty years. They
were two peas in a pod, when you saw one, you would also see the other. Geraldine loved
herself some Luke. She and Luke had many things in commonbut especially enjoyed traveling.
When it was time to hit the road they were ready to just to go some place specific or get out of
town, didn't matter where as long as they were together.
Never wanting to be far from her
beloved, Luke. When she was home, she would say,
"well let me go see what Luke is doing.
Geradine had a very closeknit and loving relationship with her sister, Joyce. During the
holidays she and Luke treasured spending time with Joyce and her husband Gerald at their
home.
Proceding her in death: Two sons; Roger and Anthony Cannon, father James and mother
Victoria Cannon, eight brothers and one sister; Jessie, James, Elbert, Joseph, Willie, Thomas,
Roy, Dole, and Rose Cannon.
Leaving to cherish her memories: Her loving fiance; Luke Jennings, Jr., one sister;
Joyce Davis, one brother-n-law; Gerald Davis, three sisters-n-law, Marlene Jennings, Janice
Williams and Renee Jennings, three granddaughters; Shakers, Scalia, Savion and Cannon, two
step sons; DeAndre and Anthony Jennings, six step grand-children; Gianni Moton, Kiami Pierce,
Syncere Pierce, Ahnyla Pierce, Trenton Mc'Neal and Jemal McNeal three step daughters; Tashica,
Judy, and Sierra Jennings, and a host of nephews, nieces cousins and friends.
