Obituary

Gladys E. Singleton, daughter of the late Mary E. Suyllivan and Joseph White, was born on May 27, 1947. She was called to eternal rest on Sunday, October 31, 2010, after a lengthy illness. She received her formal education in the Baltimore City Public School System. She graduated from Frederick Douglas High School. She gained employment at Sabatino's Italian Restaraunt and was truly loved by her boss and his wife, Phil and Frances Gabrael, as well as her co-workers. Gladys accepteed Christ in her life at an early age and became a member of New Shiloh Baptist Church. She loved traveling and did so every chance she got. She was on a bowling league for many years. She loved to sing and sang as a member of Sarah Hayes and the Hayes Specials. They recored two singles, "Turn to Jesus" and "Stop Me." She also sang with the Voices of Hollins Terrace under the direstion of Rev. Jesse Frazier. She loved to cook. She was very particuladr and could always tell when something was out of place and would fuss at you until it was back in place. After moving to Villa St. Michael/Future Care-Lochearn, she always participated in various activities. She sang on the chior and became the president of the "Lochern Stargettes." Gladys made numerous friends whereve she went and will be sincerely missed by everyone who knew her. She was always a true friend, devoted mother and also raised her niece, Vanessa. She leaves to mourn; brother, Albert Singleton-Ford; sister-in-law, Annette Ford; daughter Bernadette E. Singleton; son, Martin W. Singleton; two grandchildren, Pamela Wade and Kevin Wade; niece/daughter, Vanessa Singleton; nephew, Anthony Singleton; two aunts, Sheila Wilson and Diretta Lee; and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
