IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Glenda P.
Chester
August 11, 1950 – August 1, 2019
Glenda Patricia Chester, daughter of the late John and Peaches Holley was
born on August 11, 1950 in Baltimore, Maryland. She departed this life on
her husband's birthday, August 1,2019 after a lengthy illness.
Glenda accepted the Lord Jesus Christ at an early age, where she fellow-
shipped at the House of Prayer for All People.
Glenda received her education in the Baltimore City Public School System.
The one job she loved was at Mount Washington Pediatric Hospital, where
she took care of sick children as a nurse's aide. Glenda was also a barmaid
for many years. She really knew how to fix a good drink. She loved to dance
and listen to oldie but goodies. Glenda loved to spend time with her family,
especially on special occasions. She loved playing Spades and talking trash,
bragging that no one could beat her. Glenda was always straightforward and
you knew where you stood with her. She was very opinionated and strong
willed.
Glenda met the love of her life, Robert Chester 25 years ago. They were
united in holy matrimony on August 6, 2004 in Winnsboro, South Carolina.
From this union, two families were united. She spent the rest of her life
loving her husband. He never left her side until she took her last breath. She
will truly be missed by us all.
She leaves to mourn: her husband, Robert Chester; her three children,
Lenora Pearson, Charon Carter and Darnell Goodman Jr.; her two brothers,
Russia Holley and Jerome Holley; one son-in-law, James Pearson; one
daughter-in-law, Lashandra Goodman; two sisters-in-law, Deborah Holley
and Fernetta Holley (who preceded her in death); one godson, Leroy Goines
(Peanut); seven grandchildren, Glenda (her namesake), Lamont, Maurice,
Tiffany, Terrell, Yasmine and, Daniel; three great-grandchildren, Mariah,
Makiyah, and Jonez Jr. her lifelong girlfriend, Pat DeShields and a host of
other relatives and friends.
