Glenda Lee was born on January 28, 1942, in Baltimore, Maryland. Glenda Lee Mack was a lifetime resident of the Sandtown Winchester Community. She attended Baltimore City Public Schools. She graduated from Frederick Douglass High School and went on to further her education by attending BCCC earning her AA Degree in Mental Health.
Her mother was Agnes Fauntleroy and her father was Willy Lee Hall Sr. She married George Mack and together they had 18 children; Nathaniel, Arthur, Benjamin, Alfred, Willie, Norris, Rodney, Rudolph, Emmanuel, Carolyn, Betty-Mae, Diane, Latanya, Windy, Sylvia, Tina, Walter and Sabrina. Her siblings are Gilda, Daphne and Willie Lee Hall Jr. She has two Sons-in-Law, Leonard Darby and Keith Faulk and a Daughter-in-law, Barbara Jackson as well as four grandchildren that she raised, Shawnte' and Donte' Knight and Charvez and Shaquana Jones. She is also survived by a host of great-grandchildren, grandchildren, and numerous family members and friends who will cherish her memory.
Glenda had a lifetime sister and friend Geraldine who she loved dearly and enjoyed spending time with and talking to. As well, Pastor Thurman and Ms. Evie were very important to her as they opened their arms, heart and home to Glenda and her grandchildren. and assisted her wit raising them.
Glenda loved to sing and one of her favorite songs was, "Walk Around Heaven". She also liked to rap, hence being named "Rapping Granny" and she would rap for the children at the church at special events. Her favorite motto was "Do unto others as you would want done unto you" which she adapted from her grandma Pauline Fauntleroy.
Glenda also belonged to the Eastern Stars where she was a member on the choir. She was also known for her fried chicken because she cooked with love in her large pots she used for cooking for her 18 children and husband she often laughed and joked.
Glenda absolutely enjoyed serving her community by volunteering to feed the homeless at the Saint Gregory Soup Kitchen. She also made, volunteered and gave out food baskets and toy baskets to ensure no family went without food, clothes and toys during the holidays. She followed , in the steps of her grandmother when it came to her involvement in the community by serving on the board of directors for Sandtown Habitat for many years.
