Gloria Jean McNeill-Fairfax
daughter of the late Annie
Mildred and Charlie McNeill was born on June 5, 1955 in Robeson
County, North Carolina. She departed this life peacefully on October 11,
2017.
She was a very well known and very outspoken person, always giving
advice whether you wanted it or not. Never had a problem with helping
anybody out. She was loved by many.
Gloria was a very educated person. She graduated from Dunbar High
School in 1973 in Baltimore, MD. She was furthered educated at Balti-
more City Community College. She was a licensed notary.
Gloria was a president for ASCME Union for Corrections. She retired in
2009 after working for 27 years for the State of Maryland as LT at Central
Booking. She also worked at different correctional facilities.
She was a loving mother, grandmother and devoted friend to many.
Gloria was married to Calvin Van Fairfax 1 st and out of this union twin
girls were born Lakishia Fairfax-Underwood and Akishia Fairfax.
Gloria leaves to mourn: her husband, Calvin Van Fairfax l "; two daugh-
ters, Lakishia Fairfax-Underwood and Akishia Fairfax; one son-in-law,
Kevin Underwood I; three sisters, Sharon Abdullah, Deborah Johnson and
Annie Denise McNeill; one sister from another motherlbest friend, Shelia
Lynch; three brothers-in-law, Syid Abdullah, Lewis Johnson, and Nathan-
iel Johnson; seven grandchildren, Markell Fairfax, Diondre Fairfax, Kevin
Underwood II, Zakiara Graves, Ahmonda Underwood, Kevinna Under-
wood and William Dower Jr.; nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives
and friends.
